About the Artist
Russian Artist Serge Marshennikov is a rising star in the art world. Serge Marshennikov paintings have an old world quality combined wtih modern features, remarkable realism and abundant beauty.
One could compare what Serge brings to figure painting to what Kyle Polzin (another highly-sought after artist) brings to still life paintings.
Serge has won awards, including the Chairman's Choice Award and Certificate of Excellence from the International Art Renewal Center's salon, and he was chosen as on of the "Top 30" by the Portrait Society of America in 2008.
Serge was born in 1971 in Ufa in the USSR. Serge painted from a very young age, and his mother encouraged his study of art, arranging private lessons and studies in art studios. After winning awards for his paintings as a child, Serge went on to graduate from Ufa Art College in 1995, and then graduated from the renowned Repin Academy of Fine Art in St. Petersberg, Russia.
His one-man shows after college were a success, and his paintings are in demand and have sold in Russia and in presitgious auction houses like Christie's London and Bonham's in Knightbridge. His paintings are in museums in the United States, and in important private collections internationally.
In 2024 Marshennikov became a finalist of The Salmagundi Club (New York, 5th Avenue) the 3rd Annual Hartley Invitational Exhibition of Fine Art.
